Built by someone who spent seven years doing this by hand
Fynrex was founded in 2022 by Isabelle Marchand, who spent the previous seven years in regulatory reporting roles at European payment institutions — the last three as Head of Regulatory Reporting, managing PSD2 submissions to three NCAs simultaneously.
The problem she kept running into: NCA schema registries update with little notice. A PAIN.001 version change would land on a Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday morning the quarterly submission window was open. There was no monitoring tool, no alert system — just the humiliating experience of discovering the change after a failed submission, then spending the weekend manually rebuilding the report package.
"The dirty secret of PSD2 compliance is that most payment institutions are still managing schema versioning in spreadsheets, with one or two people who know where the NCA registry URLs are and check them manually. When those people are sick, or leave, the knowledge walks out the door."
Isabelle started Fynrex to make schema registry monitoring and compliant report generation a platform problem, not a headcount problem. The first version of the product was a Python script that polled the FCA's PAIN.001 schema page every six hours and emailed a diff to a Slack channel. The product is now considerably more sophisticated, but the core use case hasn't changed: when a schema version changes, your package regenerates automatically.
Fynrex raised a $1.5M angel round in April 2026 to accelerate NCA coverage expansion and support the PSD3 transition. The company is headquartered in Jersey City, NJ, with team members across the Netherlands and France.
Compliance infrastructure should be as reliable as the regulation it serves
Specificity over generality
We build for one problem: PSD2 schema-versioned NCA reporting. We don't try to be a general RegTech platform. The institutions that need us need us to be very good at one specific thing.
Evidence over claims
Compliance officers are skeptical of vendor claims. Every feature in Fynrex is designed to show its work: version provenance, validation results, submission timestamps. We prove the package is correct, we don't ask you to trust us.
Operational detail matters
The difference between a compliant and a rejected submission is often a single field value in a schema version that changed six weeks ago. We take those details as seriously as you do — more seriously than a general automation platform ever would.
Long-term relationships
Regulatory reporting is not a one-time setup problem. Schema versions change every quarter. NCAs update their portals. PSD3 is coming. We price as annual contracts and invest in customer success because staying compliant is an ongoing relationship, not a deployment.
Regulatory domain expertise, not just engineering
Isabelle spent seven years in regulatory reporting roles at European payment institutions before founding Fynrex in 2022. Her last role before founding was Head of Regulatory Reporting at a mid-size European payment institution where she managed quarterly PSD2 submissions across three NCAs.
Previously built data pipeline infrastructure at a Netherlands-based fintech. Leads schema monitoring engine and XML generation systems at Fynrex.
Eight years in compliance operations at European banks and PSPs. Helps Fynrex customers onboard, configure NCA coverage, and navigate submission workflows.
Former regulatory affairs consultant specializing in PSD2 implementation. Maintains Fynrex's NCA coverage documentation and schema change impact analyses.
